About me
I was born and raised in Lincoln, UK. A city whose long history sparked my interest in heritage at an early age and continues to shape both my life and my work. From an early fascination with the past to a career spanning heritage, therapy, and public service, I’ve always been drawn to the places where people, memory, and meaning intersect.
My path hasn’t been linear. A long period of serious illness in my early twenties changed everything, eventually leading to a Crohn’s diagnosis and a deeper understanding of health, resilience, and the systems meant to support us. It was the beginning of a wider journey into psychology, nutrition, movement, and the less tangible aspects of healing. Today, I’m qualified in both physical and mental health fields, including personal training, counselling, hypnotherapy, and wellness coaching.
Alongside this, I continue to work in heritage, combining academic training with creative practice to develop meaningful projects across research, the historic environment, museums, and digital storytelling. I also explore how emerging technologies, including embedded systems and AI, can be used creatively within my design practice to support interaction, communication, and cultural expression.
A profound loss, my mother’s preventable death due to failures in the adult social care system, continues to drive my advocacy for reform. Her story, and those like it, fuel my work with purpose.
Today, I divide my time between the branches of WyldRoots, the business I founded to bring all of this work together, and doctoral research that explores how heritage, wellbeing, and policy intersect in practice. Through both, I aim to develop projects that are personally meaningful and socially relevant.
